Better Than Ever...!
2010 marks 60 years of excellence for Wolin-Levin. The company has come a long way, from having first opened its doors in what founder Norm Levin calls ‘a utility closet’ in the Hyde Park Bank building, to having an expansive full floor suite above the swanky Nacional 27 restaurant in the popular River North neighborhood of Chicago.
Wolin-Levin’s roots in south-side neighborhoods of Chicago are deep; they remain planted and respected there to this day. Those initial bank headquarters were merely temporary accommodations. After six months of operation, Norm moved the company several times; first to 1525 East 53rd Street, then to 957 East 55th Street, and subsequently to 6848 Stony Island, each time adding staff and properties to the management portfolio. Wolin-Levin remained on Stony for many years until taking over the former Steinway drug store space at the corner of 55th & Everett streets. Today, that same location houses the Hyde Park office where ‘Mr. Levin’ can still be found, taking care of his longest and most endured property owners with great personal pride.
60 years have brought about many changes. As the history page on this website details, Wolin-Levin began its property management work exclusively in the rental sector. That changed when Norm’s son, Bob Levin, entered the company. Bob’s education and experience in finance, coupled with his foresight, his vision and his determination, fast-forwarded the company into the world of condominium, cooperative and HOA management. After personally expanding the company in this arena, Bob took it yet another leap forward in 2004 by forming a partnership with the residential management arm of FirstService Corporation. This union places Wolin-Levin at the top of the industry, giving the firm national exposure, acquiring exclusive resources for its clientele, and providing a red carpet path lined with the highest standard of management services available in Chicago to its valued residents.
Reflecting back on six decades of work, Norm is most proud of Bob “for his success in converting the business as smoothly as possible” and for steering it into some new and uncharted territories. Together, Norm and Bob Levin remain steadfast in their dedication, integrity and commitment to the company for its continued success.
Today, Wolin-Levin is, indeed, Better Than Ever…!
